The successful exhibition of the Groningen artist Henk Helmantel can only be seen for 4 days in the Grote Kerk. Helmantel created four new works for the commemoration of 400 years of the Dordtse Synode. In addition, a limited part of his very extensive oeuvre can be seen.
The exhibition is open until 26 May.
Henk Helmantel
Henk Helmantel (1945) is regarded as one of the most important representatives of contemporary realism. Helmantel’s paintings are particularly characterised by their dramatic light-dark contrasts, as can also be seen with the seventeenth-century masters.
His work is widely appreciated.
