in Helmantel, Ode to the Synod
Henk Helmantel (1945) is regarded as one of the most important representatives of contemporary realism. Especially the dramatic contrasts between light and dark, as can also be seen in the seventeenth-century masters, characterize Helmantel’s paintings.
His work is widely appreciated.
During the months of March, April and May, guided tours will be given, with ample attention to the exhibition of Helmantel and the Grote Kerk itself. First of all, an art connoisseur will give an explanation of Helmantel’s work.
After a short coffee and tea break, the remaining part of the tour will be devoted to the Grote Kerk.
The possibility to participate in this special tour is limited.
The rate for participation in this tour is € 5.00 per person (this includes entrance to the church).
Registration is possible via the agenda of this website.
The tours take place on the following dates:
7 March | 21 March |
4 April | 25 April |
9 May | 23 May |
