A visit to the Grote Kerk inspired him to record the interior of the Grote Kerk in a painting as well. For this he immediately made a number of sketches.
Westeremden
During ‘Ode to the Synod’ work by Helmantel will be exhibited in the Grote Kerk. Of course, the work inspired by the Synod will not be missing. The church interior of the Grote Kerk, made by Helmantel, will also be on display. He is currently finalising the latter work in his studio in Westeremden, Groningen.
